We are all moved in at the In-Laws!!

Well things have been going good so far...We are really grateful for Geoff's parents taking us in while we get ready to build our new home. Right now we are living in one of the bedrooms upstairs and Kaylee has her own room too. We are working on finishing the basement so that we can move down there. There is going to be a bedroom, bathroom and living room and eventually a kitchen. Last night we put the drywall on the ceiling and I helped drill some screws in too which was fun. There is still quite a bit of work left but we hope to have it done in about two weeks.

It is really nice to be out in the country. There is no noise or business of the city and even though we live outside of Edmonton it only takes Geoff 5 minutes more to get to work. Which is great. The days are so long with him at work from 9 to 6 that I miss him terribly. I had gotten so used to him being at home all day working on the condo that now it's hard to not have him around.

At our new ward, same church just different location, I have already received a calling. It was our first Sunday and they have me teaching Sunday School starting next Sunday. I think that we are in the New Testament but I will find out tonight when I get the manual. I will be teaching 14 and 15 year olds which should be interesting. My father in law is the Sunday School President, he's in charge of making sure that all of the teachers are in place and that everything runs smoothly, so it will be nice to have him right here if I have any questions.

Kaylee seems to be back to her normal self. Her appetite is back and she has a runny nose and she might be working on another tooth. Yesterday it was nice to go for a walk to get the mail with Kaylee in her sled. The road is covered in snow and it is just fun to be outside and not have to worry about anything.

We are also excited for Melissa, Geoff's sister, to be coming home in about 26 days or so. Hi Melissa if you are reading this!! We are really excited for you to come home and meet Kaylee!! We love you!!

Have a great day everyone!!

How Does That Happen?????

So Kaylee is playing in the living room with her spoon and bowl after having a snack and I go to do the dishes. She is having a great time. She is not feeling better yet but is doing much better than before. This is last week by the way. I check on her and all is well. A couple of minutes later she comes walking around the corner holding on to the wall with a big smile on her face and there's something not right. On her face is some kind of mess. I walk into the living room to find that she had pooped right out of the top of her diaper and it was in a pile on the carpet. (She was wearing a top and jeans) Then, I'm not sure what she did, but somehow it was all over her cheeks and around her mouth.

Freaking out I carry her down to the tub to give her a really good bath. I'm not sure at that point whether to laugh or cry as I remember the words of advice the nurse on the phone gave me the day before about diarrhea. "Remember to wash your hands often as some of the feces could be on your hands and will make her or you sick again." What she should have said is when your daughter has diarrhea, she must wear a onesie AT ALL TIMES!!

We have 10 days to move!

Our condo sold yesterday!! We are really excited to be able to continue on with our plans for our new home. Although we have to be out of here by the 27th. Should be interesting. Geoff is working 9-6pm everyday at Riverside Honda putting snowmobiles and quads together and fixing them and stuff. Which leaves me to be the one to get everything packed up and ready to go. Linda, do you have any advice for me, since you are the pro??

Our plan is to move in with Geoff's parents. We are finishing their basement into a one bedroom suite with living room and kitchen. The kitchen won't be done right away but we will eventually get that done too. So we will eat our meals with them. Then we have two pieces of land on hold till the end of the month which we are purchasing with the money that we have made on the sale of our home. The one piece we will build our home on and the other is an investment that we plan on selling in the future. We will be living north of Edmonton when the house is done in a really nice subdivision that has no homes in it yet. Our house will probably be the second to be build by the end of the year. We are country people and don't want to live in the city anymore. Plus we want our kids to have a yard to play in and I want a garden and my own house. It will be quite the endeavor but we are determined to make our dream come true.

There is a lot to get done in these ten days. I better get started....

We would like to wish daddy a happy birthday!! He turned 24 on January 15th and we had fun celebrating!! Posted by Picasa

A little bit late but Kaylee is one!! She weighs 21lbs 9oz and is 27 inches tall. She is almost ready to go front facing in the car seat but we might wait until she's a year and a half to do that. She is walking around between furniture and stuff but not everywhere yet.  Posted by Picasa

This is some serious bed head. Kaylee and I have been sick since Sunday and it has been a rough couple of days. The flu hit us pretty hard.  Posted by Picasa

A Crazy Day

830am Well, Kaylee woke up crying which is never a good thing and she was not feeling well at all. I was really tired too and not feeling so hot myself. I played with her in the morning to try and keep her happy, toys, bath etc.

1030am Kaylee went down for a nap and so did I. I set my alarm just in case too because I had to bring Kaylee to the capital health for her one year shots.

1115am Alarm is going off, thank goodness I set it.

1140am We managed to get through all of the snow outside our house, gotta love the Sorel's we got for Christmas. If Kaylee has a fever the nurse won't give her a shot but before we can find out the fire alarm goes off and we are all sent outside! I didn't take her outside but waited in the foyer. Finally we get let in and Kaylee gets her shots in the arm. Not all that much fun but we did it!!

1pm We are back at home and she is still out of sorts. So we have some lunch and off for a nap. It is blizzard conditions outside and I am certain that no one will want to come and see the condo.

215pm Our real estate agent calls and there will be someone there in 10 minutes!! Ahh. I do a mad dash around the house to clean it up. These are the same people that came the day before and didn't even bother to make an appointment. They just showed up. Weird.

415pm The people seem to like the house and they are thinking of putting an offer down. Our real estate agent calls and says there are some people coming down at 5 (who wants to drive out in a blizzard, not me) and the other people put in an offer but it was too low so she rejected it. So once again I do a mad dash to get everything cleaned. Well you might think that it should still be clean from the last time, but I had done some laundry and I didn't wash the dishes from last time and Kaylee has found her way around the house too. I bring some clothes downstairs and Kaylee manages to fall down the stairs. We don't watch her anymore on the stairs as she has become a pro but wow, that's one sound you don't want to hear. I am feeling like the worst mom in the universe even though she recovers faster from that than she did from the needles. Once again we pack up and leave for an hour.

6pm We are back and I make some supper even though I don't have time to actually eat anything because i have to run off to activity days.

830pm Back from activity days to see that Geoff and Kaylee had a great time. Plus the offer that was rejected was raised to a suitable amount and so we accept!! The day ends with the hope of our condo selling, we have to wait until the 16th to find out and Kaylee going to bed after some good cuddles and a little tylenol to dull the pain of whatever she is suffering from.

All in all a CRAZY day.
