First Anniversary

Well we had a lot of fun on our first anniversary that we celebrated on saturday. Geoff spent the morning skidooing out at his parents while I watched pride and prejudice with Kaylee and Geoff''s mom. I must say that I have read the book, watched the six hour version and now the new one and well the six hour version is good, the book has the most details and makes the most sense and the new version is alright but better understood once having read the book. Although the scenery was really pretty in the new version.

Then we left Kaylee with the grandparents and we were off to the temple. It was really nice to hear the vows and the blessings that we made and received when we were married. Then we went out for supper at Swiss Chalet which was really yummy. Geoff had the large ribs and I had ribs and chicken. We had no room for dessert so we decided that we would either have something later or another day when we had more room. We went to Toys R Us next to shop for Kaylee with all of the money that we received from the baby shower in Grunthal. Which by the way thanks again to everyone. We managed to buy a swing, baby monitor, a gate for the stairs, a baby on board thing for the car, a nursing pillow and bottles. It is really nice to have all of those things and we plan on buying a humidifier once we find a nice one. I will post some pictures once I have a chance for all to see.

We go home to check out the movie selection but it turns out that there is nothing that we want to see and so we open a bottle of bubbly apple juice and watch a Harry Potter movie. Just relaxing and enjoying each other's company was great. Plus having a night where we didn't have to wake up for Kaylee was really nice too. I love her so much and I did miss her but it is important to spend time with my husband too. We went to church the next morning and then we headed off to the grandparents to see our daughter. She had a great time, didn't fuss at all and slept from 10pm till 630am. Isn't that nice.

Anyway, it is crazy that a year has already gone by but Geoff and I are doing great and we love having our daughter in our family. We are grateful for all of our blessings, family and friends and we are looking forward to another wonderful year together.

Time for Me

Well things are going alright over here. I feel a need for a little of me time. I haven't been getting enough sleep lately. Kaylee is still doing well for the night. she's in bed between 10pm and 11pm. Wakes up at 5am fo a half hour feed and then sleeps till 9am.so that's really good. But I wake up at 3am and can't fall back asleep or Geoff wakes up and then after i feed her i can't fall asleep and well I'm just not getting enough. So I'm in the tub relaxing and enjoying a face mask. My body is worn and chubby, my eyes burn from lack of sleep and my back hurts for no reason. Supper today was yummy but has left me feeling not so good. Kaylee peed and pooped her diaper so bad that everything she was wearing is wet and I end off my bath with her joining me to get rinsed off.

She's sleeping now and so should I be but here I am on the blog. I don't think that she is out for the night yet but I guess we'll see. This weekend is our first anniversary for being married. WOW the year has gone by so quick. We have planned a fun weekend. Friday night we are going out to his parents to do some skidooing since we still have snow and saturday during the day too. We are going out for supper at swiss chalet in the evening and shopping at toys are us for things for Kaylee. Geoff's parents are watching Kaylee for us and my parents are treating us to supper. We have such wonderful parents. I am looking forward to spending time with my husband.

The Snowball Fight

I forgot about this. We go out with Nicohlas and Carson to the hill by the rodeo to do some sledding and we end up having a bit of a snowball fight. All of us except Carson. Now we are tired and just sitting around relaxing and resting. Well I decide that I want to go down the hill again and the path leads right between Nic and Carson. I'm laughing and having a great time as I go down a bit faster than usual sitting on the sled. As I pass Carson he throws a snowball at me and gets me right in the face! I am completely shocked as it came out of no where. We all end up crying because we are laughing so hard. Great shot Carson, you should play baseball!!

Our Trip to Grunthal

Where to start. Kaylee was really good on the plane ride there. She slept most of the time and only woke up to eat and get a diaper change. It was really great to see my parents again. It's hard to be far away from the family so every moment spent with them is precious. Kaylee was all smiles when she saw Grandma and Grandpa Maczuga. We visited with some people from where I used to work before I moved and we got together with some of my friends. It's great to go visiting because everyone wants to hold her and then Geoff and I don't have to worry about entertaining her for awhile and we can just enjoy relaxing. Grandparents are great too because they babysit and feed her in the morning so that I can go back to bed. Kaylee was really good too for the grandparents first babysitting job. She didn't even cry and I ask myself who is this girl? Every other night that we were there she put up a fuss.

Everyone in the family was excited to see her. Grandpa was excited to show her off around town. On Sunday the family had a baby shower for her and everyone wanted their turn to hold her. Plus it was really nice to see family that I hadn't seen for a long time. Kaylee got so many cute outfits for when she is older and money so that we can get things that we couldn't have brought back on the plane. We are going to get her a swing, baby monitor, mobile for on the floor, humidifier for when she is sick, gates for the stairs, bottles and other little things. Thanks so much to everyone for their wonderful presents. Plus we got some hand me downs. Kaylee has more clothes than Geoff and me. Too bad they grow up so fast and she will be in and out of all of the clothes.

Anyway, we had a wonderful time. It was a great relaxing break as the grandparents took care of Kaylee and Geoff and I could go and do some things that we haven't done for awhile. We went to a reception to go dancing, skating, and sledding. Now we are back home and caring on with our routine. Time goes by so fast. Thanks again to everyone and we will see you all again at Christmas.

Two Months

Kaylee is now two months, unbelievable. We went in for her shots today and I didn't realize that she was getting three needles. Geoff was there but it took so long to get in that he had to leave to go to work when we got in. So I had to handle this all by myself. I am happy to say that we both did well. Although that needle is so long you'd think it would go right into her bones. I held her tight like they said and she cried. By the time the third one came around she was crying without breathing. I had to stay calm and composed so that I could comfort her and she stopped crying fairly quickly. My heart broke though when I saw her sad little face and I am just happy that she is too young to remember this. Now I just hope that she doesn't get a fever or anything but she might. She is just too precious.

Kaylee weighs 10 pounds 3 ounces and is almost 22 inches. She is only in the 30% range of babies so she is on the small side but that's okay because she is just so cute. She has cradle cap which does not look like fun and so we are trying to get rid of that with some baby oil but there is nothing we can really do. We are all excited to be leaving for Winnipeg tomorrow. And so we are going to have to pack, clean and do some laundry today. We will see everyone soon!!
