Happy Anniversary to Us!!

Well it has been two years and we are still going strong. Tonight we are going out for supper, The Saw Mill, sounds romantic huh but we've heard that it is good food. Then we are going to see a movie, Premonition. Geoff has tomorrow off so we are going to the temple to remember the promises that we made to each other, a tradition that we are doing each year. Later in April we are going away for three days to a resort in Canmore called Banff Mountain Gate Lodge. We only have to pay for our food and gas to get there as we won some sort of free trip. We also have $100 spa credit that I plan on making full use of. Anyway, more details to come as we celebrate.

Have a great day!!

Happy Anniversary you guys!!

Have fun on your date. Anywhere you go alone is romantic, doesn't matter too much where it is! As long you get to spend time alone and Don't. Have. To. Cook. is a huge bonus!!

Love you guys!

Dear The Salter's,

I just stumbled across your Blog and had to take a moment to respond to your recent comments about plans to go to Banff Gate in April. My fiance and I also 'won' a 2-Night stay with $100 in the Spa, and actually used it this past weekend. I wanted to give you a brief snapshot of our experience as I hope yours is far better. After 8 months of trying to book our 'winning stay', we were finally able to get in for this weekend. After speaking with the reservations woman, she assured us that we would have a confirmation letter sent 3 days prior to our arrival. 5pm Friday arrived and we still had no confirmation letter. We decided to make the trip anyways in hopes it would all work out. We arrived to find they had no record of our reservation and actually had to bump us to the Chateau Canmore, their sister property in Canmore. So, we drove back to Canmore only to find that the hotel is right on the train tracks and had no on-site amenities. We had to drive back to the Banff gate if we wanted to soak in the hot tub, use the pool or the gym. No effort was made on teh part of the staff to follow up on our concerns. upon checking out early, we were asked to wait to have our 'tour/sales presentation' before we departed or we would be charged $150 for the night we had stayed. This was news to us, but we waited nonetheless. A young Sales Associate proceeded to lead us into a 2-Bedroom unit - much nicer than the one we had stayed at at Chateau Canmore - and just sort of left us there to look around. Then she asked us why we wanted to buy into RCI and tried to half-heartedly sell us on the concept. She failed to show us the common areas of the resort and seemed to not really care about us. I handed her our completed comment card and she sort of said "yeah I hate it when things don't work out", stuffed it in her pocket and bid us farewell. I warn you about your upcoming stay and encourage you to ask any questions prior to making the drive out. On a positive note, Sarah, the Spa Manager, gave us a wonderful reflexology massage and ultimately left us feeling pampered and relaxed. I wish you the best of luck as this 'prize' is an attempt to sell you RCI timeshares at their mediocre Canmore resorts.
