Riot Team Part 2

Last night we went back out to find they had the guy out of the condo and all was safe again in our little part of the world. Geoff got his van and parked it in the lot and Mark was able to go home. We watched it on the news, all 30 seconds, and found out that he had a knife and was threatening to do harm to himself and maybe someone else not sure. 5 hours though!! As Geoff would say, some people's kids. Although he was older and well....Rumor though was that he shot his girlfriend. Weird how that happens.

On a fun note, Kaylee sat up by herself for almost a minute today. Fun!!

Riot Team

So... Kaylee and I are coming home from walking to the post office and a cop car pulls up in the drive way to the parking lot of all of the condo's. then another, and another and another. With guns and rifles the works. well there is no way that i am walking into the area with kaylee. but i end up going by and getting home. good thing too because half an hour later geoff can't get in and can't come home! so he calls me from a friend's house two blocks away. i tell him to try and walk in but they won't let him. then he reads my mind as i think that he should just jump the fence by our house and there he is. the cop lets him jump the fence and he's home. now it is ten o'clock. it's been five hours. The guy in the condo has a knife and won't come out. there are cops and the riot team who wear the helmets with the big guns. what is going on!!! and Geoff's brother Mark is here too and can't leave because his car is on the street and they won't let anyone leave or enter.plus they have the whole street blocked off and are rerouting traffic. what a day. it's like the movies here. Should be a fun night. Fill you in on the rest tomorrow. We might be on the news tonight. City tv is here. see ya.

I started putting clips in her hair because her hair is getting into her eyes it is so long. This is her "I want to put the camera in my mouth mom" face. What a sweet heart. Posted by Picasa

What's New....

Kaylee has a new voice..or more like a new scream. The funny part is that she is happy while she is doing it. It seemed to have developed at the grocery store yesterday as every single person in eye sight seemed to be looking at me with a confused look on their face. One gentleman even commented on how much racket she was making. All I could do was smile and pretend like that wasn't my sweet little girl screaming like that, really, she's not. She must know that I am typing this right now because she is lying in her crib just screaming. Her face turns a bit read and you would think that she is filling her diaper at the same time but oh no, it's all joy and screaming. I think we'll be keeping the neighborhood up tonight.

Yesterday I went out to go for a walk with Kaylee and I had to get the stroller from the car first. Well the car was not on the street where I left it. Actually there were no cars parked on the street at all and it looked like they might have been doing street work. I look around and the car was parked on the other side of the street and there is a blvd inbetween too. I was thankful to find the car there and thankful that Geoff took the time to move the car in the morning so we wouldn't get towed. Well at supper time I thanked Geoff and he told me that he didn't move the car. What? How on earth did it get there. I mean there is a boulevard and you have to do a u turn at the lights and all. He's kidding right? nope. So I was up for the most part of the night wondering how on earth the car moved. How could the street people have moved it, I mean the car was in park and all. Maybe somebody else got a key to the car and now they know where we live and probably have a key to the house too!! Not a good night's sleep was had by me. We realized the next morning that the street workers probably did move the car and just towed it with the back tires on the ground and not the front and that they didn't have to take it out of park to do it. Crazy night.

Oh, and the Oilers won tonight. Talk about an amazing game!! We could here people honking and yelling from our house. I hope that we can win the cup!!

29 For the First Time

Today is that day where another year catches up with me and I reflect on all that has happened. I'm a wife to an amazing husband who surprised me with a great present this year. I actually got it last week tuesday because he bought it that day and couldn't wait till today to give it to me. I'm a mother to a wonderful daughter who makes me smile every day. It's been a great year and I look forward to the next one.

I like to celebrate my birthday over a weekend. So this year it was a bit different than what I expected. I planned for Kaylee to spend the day and night with Grandma Salter so that I could relax and get my hair done and stuff. I ended up going with Geoff though to work on a deck from 8 am till 430pm and he put me to work. So buy me a tool belt because I am a working girl building decks. I used a power drill for the first time and after a couple of 'screw ups' I finally got the hang of it and put plywood on the stairs. Thank goodness for a button that goes in reverse to take screws out because I had to do that a couple of times. Plus it was so hot that day but the good part was that we had a picnic lunch under a really nice tree. and in the evening when we both met back at home at 7pm we went out for supper and had a nice evening together.

Saturday we went back to the deck to work on it some more and took Kaylee with us. She was an angel playing in her playpen while we worked till 7pm again. Sunday we did the usual birthday of a BBQ plus games outside and stuff. It was fun. And today I spent the day cleaning the house and playing with Kaylee. Tonight we are going to watch the Oilers and have some DQ. Happy Birthday to me. They, whoever they are, say that if you don't work on your birthday you will be lazy for the rest of the year. Well I think I put my time in and I should be fine.

I still miss having a Maczuga birthday with the songs and all of the family being around but my parents were nice enough to call me this morning at 7am to wish me a happy birthday. I would like to report that I am ten pounds heavier than I would like to be, I have much more white hair than I would have hoped and I am happier than I could have ever imagined I would be. Thanks to all of my family and friends for their love and to those that live outside of Edmonton, I can't wait to celebrate good times again soon!!
