Some Funny Stories

Hey all. Not much is new out here except the warm weather and the Oilers are still winning!! White Ave is the party place but unfortunately there are too many drunks and people vandalizing shops. But the spirit of the people is great with their oiler flags hanging on cars and everyone cheering them on. Edmonton has the best fans!!

The other night we were over at some friends for a BBQ and to watch the Oiler's game. Geoff ate so much that his pants were too tight. David said to him, you should have worn your buffet pants. Geoff replied with, yeah, I should have worn Colleen's pants!

Lucky for him, I understood what he meant as he was referring to my maternity pants but what a brave husband to say that with his wife sitting right there! We both had a good laugh about it.

The other day I was walking home with Kaylee and a lady meets up with us. She starts talking and pointing to Kaylee speaking the entire time in Chinese. I had no idea what she was saying but I can only assume that it was about how cute Kaylee is and so on. :) Anyway, I let her know that Kaylee is a girl and then Kaylee, who is sleeping, opens her eyes, gives the lady a smile and goes back to sleep. I say have a great day and wave good bye and she continues talking in Chinese.

Now for a not so fun experience but one that I am over and don't think about anymore. I'm at an activity for the girls that I meet with twice a month. It's a Saturday and a lunch has been provided for them. Well later when I am walking to the next activity in the building, the lady who set up the lunch comes to talk to me and Kaylee. She says how cute Kaylee is and how her grandson is four months too and he is walking around and talking non stop, (walking around??) she is a bit older. Anyway she's done talking and as she is leaving grabs Kaylee's cheek and says oh you malnourished little thing. It looks like you've missed a meal or two. I thought that she was just joking or something so I was a bit stunned as she was walking away....BUT what kind of joke is that! Kaylee is perfectly fine and trust me, she does not miss any meals. Some people. Don't worry though. I'm not bothered by it anymore. I'm just a little confused with some people.

Otherwise, our little family is doing great and we are so glad summer is here. Mother's Day was great and I hope everyone else enjoyed it too. Love and miss you all!!

oh I hate those little comments that just stick with you - I remember when one of our friends met Noah for the first time he commented on how his head was so big - I was completely insulted and tho I got over it - I never felt quite the same about that friend! (Yah I know Noah had a big head - but it's different when I say it myself!)
Kaylee is perfectly perfect and I can see in her pictures that she is getting those adorable pudgy baby wrists that are so kissable!

I remember when I was at the Stake Pioneer something and an unnamed girlfriend to a father of a dear friend of mine and yours said "You mean he isn't walking yet? It's cute when they're are fat as a baby but when they get older and they are fat it is not so cute." Confusing, yes. Especially since Zach was about 3 1/2 months old at the time. I think she thought he was much older and figured it was time he got off his chubby bum and started to do a few laps. :)
